Decompressing the Spine: A Backbend yoga workshop
So many of us, students, teachers, workers, mothers and fathers experience pain in the back, either while back-bending, forward bending or twisting. Or we are limited in poses because of real or perceived fear of bending backwards.
This workshop is designed for yoga teachers to help you strengthen and stabilise your own backbends, while also learning how to assist students allowing them to deepen themselves. With work on asana, adjustments, and specifically targeted or “remedial” exercise, this workshop will leave you feeling safer to move into these wonderful and exciting poses. Using techniques from Forrest yoga, as well as other specifically targeted exercises and poses, you will come away with a humility and sense of how to build the strength and stability for safe, deep backbends.
Mentoring workshops are small group experiences, so people with injuries, questions or very specific concerns are very welcome, as are teachers from any yoga tradition. Please see the full page for further details.
